I need to download Oracle 10g client (64 bit). But i couldn't find any proper link from oracle website. In oracle site they provide only the latest client version.
And give me some suggestions on my following problem.
I've developed a project in ASP.NET. My project is using ODBC connection string to communicate with the database.
Developing Machine : Windows server 2008R2 (64 bit)
Developing Tool : Visual Studio 2010 (64 bit)

Database : Oracle RDBMS version 11.2.0.3 (located on a separate server)
Client installed : 11g client (64 bit)
When the application is trying to connect with the database the following 2 errors occurred.
1st case: I've hosted the application in IIS of the Windows server 2008R2. While access the hosted application i got this error
'Error: (IM002) [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified'
2nd case: While i run the application through Visual Studio 2010 itself i'm getting this error
'ERROR [IM004] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_ENV failed'
We're moving from database version 10.2 to 11.2.0.3.0. We're using 32 bit 10201 client (10201_client_win32.zip). The client seems to work with 11g.
I've a new machine, Win 7 64 bit. I want to download the appropriate client for 64 bit and version 11.
I believe that a version 11 client should be backward compatible to a 10 database, is that correct?
And. where do I find the download for the client? I've found links, such as http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/oracle11g/win64_11gR1_client.zip, in this forum, but they seem to be dead.
I've found 'Instant Client', but I don't think that's what I'm seeking.
I did a search from the Instant Client download page, for win64_11gR2_client.zip and found page which Oracle Database 11g Release 2 for Microsoft Windows (x64) , which includes a reference to 'Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Client (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x64)', which download file is win64_11gR2_client.zip.
Does that seem to be the 64 bit, version 11.2 replacement for 32 bit, version 10.2 client 10201_client_win32.zip?
